Trust
This Charitable Trust was formed in December 2019 to further the education, cultural, recreational, or sporting opportunities of students within the Waitaki District.
The aim is to provide financial assistance to Waitaki Girls High School, Waitaki Boys High School, St Kevins College, Oamaru Intermediate School & East Otago High School, all within the Waitaki District, for the purpose of ensuring that particular students are not deprived of educational, cultural, recreational, or sporting opportunities because of their constrained financial circumstances, as defined by 5(1) of the Charities Act 2005 which is providing support, assistance or benefit to the youth of the Waitaki District for charitable purposes.
Funding is currently provided to Waitaki Girls High School, Waitaki Boys High School, St Kevins College, Oamaru Intermediate School & East Otago High School in 2 ways.
Firstly, by way of a Reimbursement Grant of qualifying expenses up to $500 per term per school, subject to Trustee’s approval.
Secondly, by way of an Individual Student Grant of up to $500 per student per term, subject to Trustee’s approval.
The trust is currently funded by the generosity of local businesses within the Waitaki District community
